This is completely up to you. This is what I have found works for us.
The kittens have a continues supply of kitty biscuits. I have tried a lot of different brands and currently use Royal canine Kitten & Mother and Kitten. I also like Blackhawk 'grain free'. They do two flavours but not branded as kitten. You can get these from www.petdirect.co.nz or animates or most vets.
I feed raw meat twice a day [morning & evening]. This can be minced wild venison, Jimbo's: veal, kangaroo or lamb, or boneless chicken when its on special at the supermarket. I just cut it up. Also fish heads or smoked trout are winners. All the kittens like the whiskers seafood pouches. I usually stand the pouch in a container of hot water for about 2min and feed it warm on their biscuits.
There is always a fresh water bowl. I will occasionally give milk but I only use the organic options. There is too much sugar in the standard options and I don't think it's good to give sugar.
I usually will look at starting this at about 4 months old. I just put the harness on for a few minutes at dinner time and take it off. Keep it loose at this stage. I do this till they look comfortable. Some kittens will fall over. You might like to wait a few more weeks till they are bigger and try again. When I attach the lead I use queues like you do when you train dogs for left and right and come with the lead nice a noose and long. Pulling them around is confusion for the kitten.
Our kittens play on cat trees & ferris wheels. They would not have been outside roaming while they are with us because we are within meters of the State high way currently. Cat trees can be expensive and its perfectly acceptable to build your own. You can use packing crates and plumbing pipe with carpet or rope coverings, the sky is the limit really. If bored they will renovate your house! And it's best to keep the toilet seat down. Also its best to be aware of things like washing powered boxs on the floor and electrical cords on the floor.
I don't understand when people ask if i've toilet trained the kittens. Their mums do this. I use the blue & white litter trays from the warehouse because it stops the litter overflowing. I also use the recycled paper litter from the warehouse. There are two brands but both have the same concept. It's ideal to remove the poop each day. If you have a kitten that does an accident its ideal to move the litter tray to this location and check that the tray is clean.
There is no right or wrong just like being a parent so i accept that each day I will learn something new. Especially with a bengal in the house. Have fun, your kitten will bring you so much joy.
Vaccinating is your choice. Some do and some don't. The kittens will have their first vac while with me and the rest is up to you. Worming and fleaing Id have to say if they have fleas then treat them and you can tell if they have worms so worm them. Follow manufactures instructions about over doing it.
